Stephanie Birmingham

Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

Hello! My name is Stephanie, and I am a marriage and family therapy intern. I’ve worked in the mental health field alongside individuals and families facing both new crises and celebrating victory for over 5 years. These opportunities blessed me with knowledge of the mental healthcare system as a whole and how to better serve those ready to move into new life.

When you can authentically be in the presence of another person, free from the threat of shame and the pressure of perfectionism, the potential for change multiplies/intensifies. Whether seasonal, as ours may be, or long term, relationships heal, grow, teach, and reveal truths we otherwise would never be able to discover about ourselves and the world of which we are a necessary part. I’m here to help individuals, couples and families, uncover hidden truths, experience freedom to be themselves, and cultivate lives they are proud to call their own. Three principles that guide me in therapy are:

  •  Context makes sense of behavior.
  •  Behavior and context didn’t start with you.
  •  Shame is a horrible teacher, and it has no place in therapy or your life!

It would be my pleasure to walk alongside you in your journey.  Make an appointment today!
